CLANTON –The Alabama Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) is joining several rural Alabama counties to announce funding for the Rural Remote Alert Grant Program. Counties involved are Pickens, Sumter, Lamar, Wilcox, Dallas, Marengo, Greene, Hale, and Perry.

“This grant will increase the immediate availability of emergency information to government entities in rural counties.” said AEMA Director Brock Long. “As the program continues to expand the residents of rural Alabama will be able to respond more quickly to a variety of life-threatening situations.”
This grant is funded by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) through the Remote Community Alert System Program.
