Montgomery, AL - In accordance with the detailed procedures prescribed by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, notice is hereby given that Alabama’s application for Part B and Preschool funds for 2011 is available for review. The application may be reviewed on the Alabama Department of Education website, www.alsde.edu. Once in the website, select Sections/Special Education/Other/Part B Application 2011 Part I and Part II. You may also download Part B Application 2011 Part I and Part II.
Once the application is approved by the U.S. Department of Education, the Alabama Department of Education will award project grants and flow-through funds to education agencies for the education of identified children and youth with disabilities ages 3 to 21. Funds released to education agencies may be utilized in a variety of ways in order to provide appropriate services to students with disabilities. These services include, but are not limited to, salaries and benefits for services provided, materials and instructional supplies, renovation of physical facilities to accommodate individuals with disabilities, transportation costs, and related services.
