MONTGOMERY— Workers at a Madison County company are learning new job skills with the help of a $25,550 grant awarded by Gov. Robert Bentley.
The grant is helping Jeff Norman Enterprises in Meridianville train eight employees in techniques to modify the company’s quality management system and expand market opportunities. The company provides precision machined parts for a range of industries. Company officials say the training will help it attain an additional certification to open up business opportunities in the aerospace industry.
“When a company’s employees learn new skills, business is strengthened and employees gain better job security,” Bentley said.
Jeff Norman Enterprises is contributing $52,696 toward the cost of the training, which will occur over an eight-month period.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Labor. ADECA administers an array of programs supporting law enforcement and traffic safety, economic development, energy conservation, workforce development, water resource management and recreation development.
Bentley informed company president Jeff Norman that he had approved the grant.
