MONTGOMERY— Gov. Robert Bentley has awarded a $9,975 grant to enable the city of Moundville to upgrade police computers.
City officials say the new computer equipment and printer will improve efficiency, reducing officer downtime during patrols.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice. ADECA manages a wide range of programs that support law enforcement, economic development, infrastructure upgrades, recreation, energy conservation, water resources, job training and career development.
Bentley notified Moundville Mayor Tony Lester that the grant had been approved.
