MONTGOMERY— Are you looking for a deal on vehicles, computers, office furniture and supplies or even ping-pong tables? You will have the opportunity to bid for those items and hundreds more at the state of Alabama surplus property auction Wednesday.
The Surplus Property Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is hosting the auction at its warehouse at 4590 Mobile Highway in Montgomery. The auction begins at 8 a.m. and continues until the last of the 434 item lots is sold.
The auction will include property no longer needed by state and federal agencies and items abandoned by airline passengers at several airports in the Southeast.
To bid, you will need a photo ID and social security number or federal employee ID. Items will be available for on-site inspection from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday.
ADECA conducts periodic public auctions, but surplus items are available at any time to city and county governments, state agencies, veterans’ service groups and other qualified nonprofit organizations.
In addition to the surplus property program, ADECA manages an array of grant programs in law enforcement and traffic safety, economic development, energy conservation, workforce development, water resources and recreation development.
