MONTGOMERY – Gov. Robert Bentley has awarded two grants totaling $3,146 to help Robertsdale purchase new equipment for the Police Department.
The grants will allow the department to purchase a laptop computer and radar equipment. The radar equipment will assist with speeding citations and data, and the laptop will help with everything from filing reports to downloading video from in-car video camera systems.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grants from funds made available to the state by the U.S. Department of Justice. ADECA administers a wide range of programs that support law enforcement, economic development, energy conservation, water resource management and recreation.
Bentley notified Mayor Charlie Murphy that the grants had been approved.
